In this blog post, I will be sharing the sample materials I have made in order to support my proposal and show why it is an adequate plan for my production.
Here are my double page spread magazine examples; I collected these pictures to show what would be typical of a fashion/cosmetics magazine and how I can replicate that. Additionally, I have also made a visualisation diagram of what my layout will look like for these pages based on the magazine covers that I just looked at. In terms of the images that I have chosen to be inserted here, they are also going to be from the same photoshoot as my front cover will and I will take many alternate pictures for the front cover which will be featured in this double page spread. The products that I have added will be products that are used on the model, and I will take separate pictures of these.
This is my visualisation diagrams for my front cover and my contents page. For both pages, I made sure to annotate everything so I can easily edit it on InDesign. I also made the layout similar to other teen magazines I've seen so my audience will be more engaged as they will connect the dots between them and other magazines that they read.
Here is my moodboard of the makeup products; I chose these as most of them look natural, but with some glamour too as this is what I want to feature in my magazine. I think I will feature a natural look on my front cover, as it's a student magazine and unnatural looks wouldn't be allowed. Then, I think I will advertise the more unique products in the vegan makeup/fashion article. It fits my genre and brief as I am doing a fashion and cosmetic magazine and therefore I have linked my moodboard to this.
Here, I collected the colours I will be focusing on, and explained how this is applicable to my target audience. I also collected the fonts that I will be using, and showed what their uses will be.
I got samples of articles that are displayed in the Teen Vogue and seventeen magazine; I also aimed to show articles that would be seen in my magazine, so it seems accurate to what my magazine would really look like.
