In this blog post, I will reflect on the materials I created for my magazine, and my reasoning for why I used them.

For the process of writing my body copy, I chose to write my article on an interview with a fictional millionaire 14-year-old, and how sustainability, and her business are key parts of this. Originally, I was going to do just an article on sustainability however, it was pointed out to me by my teacher that the photoshoot and the article should have some relevance, so I decided to change it and accept this feedback. I wrote my interview by looking into what somebody who is in Sarah Masington's position would actually do and their motivations for helping the environment. I looked at Greta Thunberg specifically, as she is the closest one to this. I will share my original and my final article here, as I was still inspired by my original idea.

This is my original article; from my original writing, I referenced some statistics and the ways that people can help the environment in my finished article, as this is still relevant to a reader.
This is my finished article.

For my photoshoot, I created a contact sheet for all the pictures I used. For a lot of these pictures, I edited them in Lightroom as I was taking the pictures when the sun had already set, meaning the lights were on and made my subjects look unnatural. Specifically, I edited the exposure and contrast to seem as if it was being taken in a well lit environment. I selected the pictures below as they were clear and had an easy erasable background, which made editing it out and putting it into my magazine very easy. I also selected these pictures as there's a range of colours and subjects, meaning it will look very appealing to my readers and make them want to read more.

Here is an image of how I edited one of my pictures in Lightroom.

This is an image of my friend helping out taking pictures for my magazine, this helps shows the process of how the pictures were taken, using a handheld camera and the real location that was used.

The assets I have created include my masthead, and some extra graphics shown on my front page which I will now explain.

Here, the title I made for my magazine used a linear gradient of the two colours that are most prominent in my colour scheme. I did this by going into the colour swatches panel and deciding what type of gradient. From there, I also had to decide on the colours that will be used however I did this beforehand meaning I could just implement the hex codes.

Here, I created multiple things and I will explain them all. To create the oval that highlights a specific section of my text, I used the ellipsis tool. From there, I changed the opacity of it to make my text stand out using the appearance tool in the properties section of the right of the screen. I created the straight line with the line tool, and adjusted the thickness of it though there. This made my exclusive interview stand out more and bring more attention to it. For my text wrapped around the circle, I went to the ellipis frame tool and then started typing on the path tool. From there, I typed "EXCLUSIVE" and made the circle's opacity 0%, which means that it simply just looks like it's part of a sphere to my readers.

To make this text stand out, I added italics to my already green text and also added the line to separate it and further add emphasis on what my article is about. To add the line, I used the line tool and then changed the weight of it.
